MUSTAQÎM - مستقيم

Etymology & Literal Meaning:

Derived from the root q-y-m (ق-و-م / قام - to stand, rise, or remain firm), it literally denotes a straight, upright and direct path or stance — one that never deviates, bends, or swerves to the right nor to the left. Functioning primarily as an adjective and a passive participle, it describes something that is not merely standing on its own, but is made straight, set upright and directed toward this stable, unbroken line by an external agency.

As an Islamic Term:

As an active adjective form of the term istiqâmah, it designates a person, path, or state that has been guided and established upon the decrees of Allah, firmly adhering to istiqâmah.
