SAWÂB – ثواب

Literally means a reward, a recompense or a ma’nawî return for a righteous deed.

As an Islamic Term: The eternal merit and reward that will be fully bestowed in the âkhirah, as promised by Allah to man for his îmân and righteous conduct on earth. It signifies that an action is meritorious in Allah's sight, acquired specifically through ‘amal as-sâlih and ultimately rewarded with the acceptance and pleasure of Allah (ridhâ).
