SÂLIH – صالح

Literally and Etymologically: Literally means good, sound, beneficial and acceptable. Etymologically, it is the active participle deriving from the root s-l-h (ص-ل-ح), which denotes being right, uncorrupted and aligned with existential purpose, standing in direct opposition to fâsid (that which is corrupted and ruined). It signifies that which essentially aligns with fitrah and hikmah.

As an Islamic Term: A righteous and upright believer who faithfully carries out the commands of Allah, abstains from His prohibitions. It describes those people of taqwâ whose intentions and deeds are deeply rooted in ikhlas, solely aiming to attain the pleasure and acceptance of Allah (ridhâ).
